In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace be upon you all (students, parents, and members of the education community). Starting tomorrow, the children of our nation will return to school for the 2016-2017 academic year. This is an opportunity for me to wish the entire educational community a happy and successful school year. Tomorrow, Monday, September 5th, primary and middle schools will reopen, and next Wednesday, September 7th, secondary schools will reopen, involving more than 130,000 students and 4,000 teachers. All our schools are ready to welcome students in optimal conditions. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all members of civil society, and especially the security forces who assisted us with the cleanup operations. This traditional back-to-school address, the first major event of the new academic year, which promises to be full of projects, also seems an opportune moment to share with you a retrospective look at the past year and to outline the prospects and challenges to be met this year, prospects and challenges rooted in the roadmap laid out by the President of the Republic, H.E. Ismaël Omar Guelleh. Certainly, we can already be pleased with the work accomplished over the past three years and the excellent results obtained in the various examinations.
